The Conversion Angle (CA) is defined as the angular difference between a Great Circle and a Rhumb Line track, between two points, measured at either point. 

The formula for CA is very straight forward: 
Conversion Angle = ½ x Convergency 

Now have a look at the relationship between Great Circles (GC) and Conversion Angle.

Let us consolidate with an example: 

An aircraft flies from St Lucia (14oN061oW) to Naples, Italy (41oN014oE).
The initial GC track is 051o.
